Haskell "Hak" Morrison - lead guitar/vocals
Haskell Morrison, an accomplished, self-taught musician, began his music career playing the piano at age 8. His love for music (anddesire for meeting girls) found him learning the acoustic guitar at age 16 - a move that began a long and wonderful musical journey with various solo, duo and group band projects. Haskell performed in competition and performance choirs in both high school and college. As a result, hehas an exceptional voice and talent for singing both lead and harmony parts. When he’s not on stage performing with Shelley Laine , you can find him performing soloaround town at local pubs and wine bars in the Dallas /Ft. Worth area. He also travels occasionally to Amarillo, Texas to play with his college bandmate - singer/songwriter Louis Homen.
Bryan Grenvall – lead guitar/vocals
Born and raised in the Dallas area, Bryan has played guitar in bands since high school covering rock, jazz, blues, country and everything in between. In the late '80's and early '90's, he and fellow band-mates from "Full Circle" enjoyed traveling the Southwest opening up shows for George Strait, Keith Whitley, Steve Wariner, T. Graham Brown and many more. He took a break from the playing side of the music industry and went to work for a regional sound company as a sound engineer, mixing monitors for artists from Burt Bacharach to Dread Zepplin to the Dixie Chicks. Recent years have found Bryan back on stage as lead guitar and band leader for singer/songwriter Woody Lee. Currently he is working with singer/songwriter Chris Rivers, and is part of the house band at Gilley's in Dallas.
Since being introduced to Shelley through fellow steel guitar ace Sonny Morris, Bryan has now added Shelley Laine as a "Star Act" to his roster of good friends and pickers! Of working with Shelley and herband, Bryan says "What a great opportunity to work with such a talented group of players AND really nice people...Anyone up for a Corny Dog???"
Dean "Deno" Baxter – fiddle
Dean is an accomplished violinist with many styles of music, Country, Jazz, Blue Grass and Classical. Dean has been playing fiddle professionally since he was 12 years old. Dean has played with nationally known artist like Lu Mitchell, Keith Reimer “Texas Legacy”, Miss Norma Jean, Miss Kitty Little, Chuck Berry, Miles Davis who taught Dean How to play trumpet, and Fats Domino. Dean has also worked on stage with artist like Vince Gill, Marty Stewart, Hank Thompson, Patsy Cline, Leann Rimes, and Dean Samms.
Dean has been a member of the National and Texas Steel Guitar Association for over 20 years working as the staff fiddle player. Dean works with nationally known steel players all over the world. Dean is currently working with national recording artist, singer/song-writer, Shelley Laine.
Newell Hardy – pedal steel/harmonica
Newell Hardy plays pedal steel for Shelley's band. He has played pedal steel professionally for over twenty years, having played with other nationally known artists including Chris LeDoux and Johnny Lee. Newell started his musical career at a young age learning piano and viola. His real love affair with music started when he acquired his first guitar, on which he has performed a variety of styles. Newell was born in the mountains of Utah, where it was natural for country music to capture Newell's soul. The pedal steel became his instrument of choice. His playing style is influenced by many of the great Nashville players, including Buddy Emmons, Paul Franklin, John Hughey, and the likes. Newell also teaches music and is professionally involved with electronic keyboard products.
David "Suga Dave" Bell – bass
David is a versatile and seasoned Texas musician. His talents include and are not limited to acoustic guitar, lead guitar, and bass guitar. Additionally, David is know to occasionally be inspired to write a song or two and you might even catch him stepping up to a mic to sing. David's wide range of musical experience encompasses all musical genres and back grounds including 50's & 60's Rock & Roll, Classic Rock, Blues, Rhythm & Blues, Top 40 Pop, Classic Country, and Today's Country Music. Through the years, David's experience has taken him to venues throughout the United States and has allowed him to work with top music industry professionals.
Kurt Cottey - drums
A native of rural northeast Missouri, Kurt Cottey began playing snare drum in grade school. Classically trained in percussion throughout high school and college, he earned all-conference, district, and state honors, and performed in symphonic and stage bands, percussion ensembles, and the "Marching Mizzou" drum line. Kurt relinquished his amateur status and began his professional career on the drum throne while still in high school in the late 70s, when he and three friends survived the disco craze by forming a working rock-and-roll band. Over the next decade Kurt drummed for several rock, country, and jam-bands in the Midwest, Colorado, and upstate New York, while also attending college, eventually earning degrees in Physics and Aeronautical Engineering.
After graduation Kurt took a sabbatical from performing, during which he started a "real" job with a major defense contractor, married his college sweetheart, and settled down to raise a family of their own. Relocated by work to north Texas in the late 90s, Kurt entered the D/FW music scene soon thereafter, and resumed his performing career. He has played a wide variety of musical styles in a handful of Dallas area bands since then, and can currently be found laying down the groove on the backline for Shelley Laine. Kurt's early musical influences included Ringo Starr, Charlie Watts, and Floyd Sneed; more recently his playing style has been influenced by Richie Hayward, Steve Jordan, and Chris "Whipper" Layton.
Lisa Fletcher - vocals/percussion
Lisa Fletcher loves to sing, which is obvious when you look at her career in the music industry. Miss Fletcher started singing 21 years ago, working on stage(Branson) with big-name artists like Andy Williams, Henry Mancini, Lorrie Morgan, LeAnn Rimes, Mickey Gilley, Moe Bandy, Mel Tillis, Buck Trent, Jeanne Pruett, Norma Jean, Jimmy Dean, Rusty Weir, Sammi Smith, and Dean Samms from Lone Star. She is comfortable on stage and not only has a passion for the country music genre but also gospel. In the gospel arena, she worked on stage with Aaron Benward, Dennis Jernigan, Lanelle Harris, and Russ Taff, The Martins, Jeff Berry, and Geron Davis. She made up one-third of Crimson who successfully placed I Can Almost See Heaven in a number one spot on European charts (three consecutive months). Lisa has performed stages of all kinds (Country Music Festival, Texas State Fair, Branson) and is currently working with recording artist, singer/song-writer, Shelley Laine .
